BACK AT IT · DATING AGAIN, ON YOUR TERMS

Intentional dating starts with a little clarity.

Being intentional does not mean having your future planned out. It means being honest about what you want today, listening to what someone else wants, and making choices that respect both of you.

Intentional does not always mean serious.

You might want a relationship, casual dating, friendship, or space to figure things out. The useful part is saying so. A clear conversation gives someone the chance to decide whether they want the same kind of connection.

In Back At It, you can share a relationship goal and your preferred pace on your profile. You can also choose not to share yet. These are preferences you can change, never a promise to meet or reply by a deadline.

Try these three conversations.

  1. What am I open to? Try “I’m looking for a relationship, but I want to get to know someone slowly.” Or “I’m interested in casual dating and want to be clear about that.”
  2. What pace feels comfortable? “I prefer to chat before making plans” tells someone more than hoping they will guess.
  3. What is a boundary I want to share? You can say “I’m not ready to talk about my last relationship” without explaining every detail.

Leave space for a different answer. If your goals do not line up, neither person needs to persuade the other. You can end a conversation respectfully and keep your boundaries.

Look beyond the first photo.

Read what a person chooses to share about their intentions, interests and pace. Ask a question about a specific detail. Back At It profile prompts and weekly interests give you something to talk about beyond a generic hello.

Once you match, Spark Games offer another starting point: you each make choices, then see the answers when both people finish. The game starts a conversation; it does not assign a compatibility score or decide whether you belong together.

Make the next step a shared choice.

If you both want to meet, suggest a public place and a time that works for you. Back At It date plans let your match agree or suggest a change. Changing the details asks for fresh agreement, and either person can withdraw.

If you want a break, My pace includes private check-ins and a discovery pause. Your check-ins stay separate from your public profile. Existing chat reply windows still apply while discovery is paused.

Your next chapter can start small.
