Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Back At It values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Back At It app and website.

Information We Collect

We may collect account information, profile details, device information, usage data, communications, and other information you choose to provide.

Profile and Location Choices

Your profile may show the state or province and country you provide. In versions that support distance sharing, this feature is optional and off until you enable it and grant location permission. The app requests location while you use it to calculate an approximate distance. Other members see a distance range only when both people have enabled sharing. Coordinates are not displayed on profiles.

Distance information stops being shown when the location is more than seven days old. Turning distance sharing off removes the stored location used for this feature. You can also revoke location permission in your phone settings. State and country remain visible until you edit them.

How We Use Information

We use your information to operate the service, improve the product, support safety and moderation, communicate with you, and comply with legal obligations.

Private Check-ins and Discovery Choices

In app versions with My pace, you may save private check-ins about your pace, focus, boundaries, or next step. These are stored with your account so you can view, edit, or delete them. They are not shown on dating profiles or in the app's administrator review screens. Saving a check-in does not change your public profile, discovery preferences, or Healing Mode. We do not use check-ins to calculate a readiness score or rank you for other members.

Discovery preferences are used to select eligible profiles and are separate from the intentions you choose to share publicly. Healing Mode pauses new discovery; existing matches and chats remain available. Messages and normal reply windows continue during a discovery pause.

Conversations and Moderation

Private messages are available to conversation participants and may be reviewed by authorized administrators for support and safety. Where supported, an optional closing note is visible to both participants and authorized administrators. Ending a conversation stops further messages; it does not by itself delete the conversation history.

Event chat rooms are archived 30 days after opening. Archiving closes normal room access and preserves history for authorized administrative review; it does not automatically delete the stored messages.

Weekly Choices, Games, and Date Plans

In versions that support weekly choices, you may share up to three activities on your profile. These choices disappear from profiles after seven days, and you may remove them sooner. Expired stored choices are removed by scheduled cleanup after a further seven days.

Spark Game answers are hidden from your match until both participants have answered. Shared date plans contain the activity, meeting place, time, and each participant's agreement. Changing the details requires fresh agreement, and either person may withdraw. Plan records are hidden 30 days after the planned time and removed by daily cleanup. Plan notices sent as chat messages remain part of your conversation history.

Back At It Nights stores reservations, attendance, and connection choices to run the event and introduce members when interest is mutual. These features follow the app's participant-access and moderation rules.

After-date Check-ins and Product Feedback

In versions with after-date check-ins, optional answers about comfort, being yourself, and wanting another date are private to your account. They are not shown to your match or in administrator screens and are not used for ranking. A separate, optional interest switch reveals mutual interest only when both participants explicitly enable it for the same agreed date. Private answers never enable that switch. You can remove a check-in or withdraw interest. Check-ins expire 30 days after the planned date and are removed by daily cleanup.

If you submit product feedback, the team receives your chosen topic, note, account identifier, app build number, and submission time. Chats, photos, and private check-ins are not automatically attached. The team can update a status visible to you. Feedback is available for 90 days and then removed by daily cleanup, or removed when you delete your account. Today uses your existing eligible plans, games, and activities to show useful next steps without making private answers public.

Optional Error Reporting and Activity Counts

Basic error reporting is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, the app sends a fixed error category, app build number, and daily count linked to your account. It does not send error text, stack traces, messages, photos, or location with these reports. We use these counts to find reliability problems and keep them for up to 30 days. Turning the setting off stops reporting and deletes your previous counts.

Administrators can view aggregate counts of signups, profile completion, conversation activity, event attendance, weekly choices, agreed plans, and optional error reports. This dashboard does not display private conversation text or private check-ins.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers, platform providers, and when required by law.

Service Providers

We use Supabase to support accounts, database records, and uploaded photos. Google Firebase supports Android notifications, and Google Play processes Android subscription purchases. A device notification token may be stored to deliver notifications to your signed-in account.

Account Deletion

You can request deletion in the app under Settings or follow the instructions on our account deletion page. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; manage subscription renewal separately through Google Play.

Data Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for business, legal, safety, and operational purposes.

My pace check-ins remain until you delete them or delete your account. After-date check-ins follow the 30-day retention described above. Subscription and referral records support entitlement checks, reward processing, and prevention of duplicate rewards. Contact us for access or deletion requests involving retained records.

Your Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information where applicable.
